@Th3Aaron yea dude its so Awesome I have my epic touch rooted I got free wifi tether, OverClock, ics ROMs, etc.. basically I have full Control of my device which I paid for with MY money lol
rooting will allow you to overclock your phone and much more

you should try GO weather its the best alternative to HTC
also you should try GO launcher which is by far the best launcher
ALSO you should try GO sms which is far better then stock and even better then handcent and it has a built in free SMS service over internet
all the other GO creations are good, but not as good as ^^^^
